Buenas tardes,
After some harsh sea conditions, today the sun is sunshining on Baloum Gwen…great to have a bit of heat This morning the sunrise was really beautiful…breathtaking orange colours…this why we are here too to see all the charms & colours of the Great North. While I am writing, the auto pilote is on…ahhhh ahh, a bit of rest…Arielle is outside with no socks…& I am wearing “as usual some would say”
my shorts…are you sure this boat is in the Arctic :-)…yes, but don’t get us wrong the days before were cold evenmore with the windchill factor…& one should expect harder conditions in the coming weeks… We should be arriving in Nome during night time… I will take the time to check a few things with my friends Sven & JB to optimaze web coordination…I don’t have a clue if you have been getting via satellite my daily messages…if the map & photos are already on line… For map, you can always type the positioning datas above on Google Earth. Good weather today to take pictures, no signs of ice yet, no whales….no belugas…yes, except “Baloum Gwen” which as a matter of fact means in Brittany language: “the White Whale”…did you know? Team is going pretty well…we all need a bloody shiower I can tell you
Thierry will in Nome check with his friend Patrick all icy charts & forecast. Sometime, a fulmar is following our sailing vessel…so cut this bird flying in a free mode… I have started to read the book of Willy de Roos who succeeded in 1977 the Northwest Passage from East to West …very interesting…as you know, we are attempting it the other way round… Hope everyone is having a wonderful time…have fun all the way - Hasta Luego from the sunny Bering Sea, patrick
